What are our tech teams — and what do they actually do? Wonder no more. We sat down with a bunch of our Engineering Managers and Technical Team Leads to briefly introduce you to some of the tech teams at Oxylabs.
OxyDash | Martynas Šakalinis, Engineering Manager
The product we work on is the dashboard for our proxies, Scraper APIs, and more, where clients purchase and manage these solutions, as well as view statistics.
The complexity of it is to integrate all of our products, payment providers, business management solutions, and security measures together for efficient and reliable operations. There's a lot of collaboration with other product teams, so it's never boring.
Basically, we're developing and constantly improving dashboard functionalities to ensure the highest standard of client experience. Front-end developers mainly work with React, whereas Back-end uses the Symfony framework.
OxyNet | Tadas Plančiūnas, Engineering Manager
Our team maintains a massive infrastructure — a network of hundreds of servers passing petabytes of data — for residential proxies, one of our main solutions.
The field is super dynamic, so we have to always keep up with the latest technologies and develop new tools. Some of our challenges are resolving client queries regarding proxy locations, optimizing traffic speed, analyzing large databases, making user behavior predictions, and responding to incident alerts.
Our tech stack is dominated by Go. But, since we need to work with huge data clusters, we also use MySQL and ClickHouse.
OxySERPs| Giedrius Šteimantas, Engineering Manager
Our team is responsible for Scraper APIs — a tool that allows our clients to gather publicly available web data in seconds.
The complexities? Our clients, amongst which — Fortune 500 companies — have complex business needs, very high standards, and scrape massive amounts of public web data, so the solution has to be reliable without a flaw and available 24/7.
Our infrastructure supports thousands of requests per second, and we're constantly developing it for a bigger scale and speed. And when it comes to tech stack, our primary coding languages are Python and Go.
OxyWeb | Giedrius Bielskis, Technical Team Lead
We're responsible for developing the oxylabs.io webpage, which represents our company to clients, employees, and potential candidates to join our company.
Our biggest focus is tracking and improving the performance of our web pages. There's also a lot of collaboration with other teams, including the Marketing Team — to support their strategic goals, we're making their ideas become a reality as soon as possible.
We mostly work with Next.js and React, but we're researching, keeping up with tech trends, and adding new tools to our stack.
Oxy Platform | Eidmantas Ivanauskas, Platform Team Lead
We are a team of DevOps engineers who craft the DevOps pipeline and maintain infrastructure for multiple teams in the company. What's more, our major focus is constantly improving developer experience and enabling teams to be more effective.
Our platform is built on a public cloud (GCP) with a focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Our tech stack is expansive: Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, and Loki for observability; GitLab CI, Terraform, Terragrunt, Crossplane, and ArgoCD for CI/CD. Kubernetes is our main workload orchestrator. We are currently working towards building our own private cloud infrastructure.
